September 26, 2019

On September 23, 2019, detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), assisted agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation with a search warrant in the 1000 block of Barcelona Loop in Lake Havasu City.

The investigation, led by the DEA, is an active case involving the death of music artist Malcolm McCormick, also known as “Mac Miller” who had succumbed to an overdose in the Los Angeles area in 2018. During the search, a physician’s prescription pad, prescription-only pills, a usable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located. In addition, a 9mm pistol, two shotguns, a personally manufactured firearm suppressor, and large amounts of ammunition were also found and seized inside the residence.

As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old Lake Havasu City resident, Ryan Reavis, was arrested and charged with fraudulent schemes and artifices, possession of marijuana, possession of prescription drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, weapons misconduct by a prohibited possessor, and manufacture of a prohibited weapon.

During his initial appearance, Reavis was held on a $50,000 cash-only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
