ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE ARREST
November 10, 2025

On November 2, 2025, at approximately 11:38 a.m., officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a report of a male subject who had acted recklessly with a firearm.

Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that the incident originated from a verbal altercation between the suspect and multiple other people that occurred around 11:30 p.m. on November 1, 2025. Following the argument, the suspect left the area, while the victim and several friends returned to a residence in the 1200 block of Lake Havasu Avenue North.

A short time later, the suspect arrived at the residence and began arguing again with the victim and others present. During the confrontation, the suspect retrieved a revolver and pointed it at several individuals in the residence, stating he was going to shoot them. The suspect then pointed the revolver at one of the victim’s face and attempted to fire the revolver; however, the firearm malfunctioned and did not discharge.

The suspect subsequently obtained a second firearm but was able to be convinced to put the weapon down and instead engaged in a physical altercation with two victims.

On November 2, 2025, at approximately 1:52 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Victor Rueda.

Rueda was charged with multiple offenses, including Attempted Second-Degree Homicide, Disorderly Conduct Involving a Weapon, two counts of Assault, and Endangerment. Following his initial court appearance, Rueda was held on a $50,000 secured bond. He later posted bond on November 3, 2025, and was released from custody.
