Lake Havasu City affirms that public safety is of the highest priority when it comes to protecting all members within the community.  In particular, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department strives to protect children by inspecting schools and childcare facilities to ensure that they are safe environments.

When parents drop their children off at a child daycare facility, whether it is at a home or center, they have the expectation that their children will be safe in their absence.  These facilities are vital to working families.  Without safe daycare homes and centers, and their dedicated staff, it would be impractical for many parents to work and care for their families at the same time.  It is very important that daycare facility owners, managers, and staff members, along with local fire inspectors ensure that the highest levels of fire protection and life safety are put in place and maintained per the fire code.

The Lake Havasu City Fire Department, Fire Prevention Bureau (LHCFD FPB) inspects child daycare facilities to ensure compliance with fire and life safety requirements.  However, not all facilities are operating with a license.  If you are entrusting your child to a daycare facility, ask to see their City Business License and their license from the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Child Care Licensing.

You, as a parent, have the right and expectation to pick your child up at the end of the day safe and sound, as your child continues to play, learn, and grow in the daycare environment.  If you believe that a child daycare facility is operating without a license, please contact the LHCFD FPB.
