On November 9, 2022, at approximately 11:07 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team responded to the intersection of Chemehuevi Blvd. and Silver Saddle Dr. regarding a single-vehicle roll-over crash.

The investigation revealed that a 2008 Honda Fit was traveling westbound on Chemehuevi Blvd. when the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve at Silver King Dr., which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and eventually roll over as it struck large landscaping rocks. The car was occupied by a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female.

During the crash, the female was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries. The male occupant was also transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center and released with non-life-threatening injuries. The intersection of Chemehuevi Blvd. and Silver King Dr. was closed for several hours due to the investigation.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team is still investigating the circumstances of the crash. Speed does appear to be a factor.
