FENTANYL INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST
January 18, 2023

Over the past several weeks, Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been investigating a male subject selling suspected fentanyl pills in the Lake Havasu City area.

On December 20, 2022, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Detectives located and arrested the male subject, identified as 26-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Andre Rawlins during a traffic stop. While in custody, Rawlins attempted to conceal evidence and fled on foot for a short distance where he was ultimately apprehended. Rawlins actively resisted arrest with the Detectives and in the process of the apprehension, broke a handheld police radio. Rawlins was transported to the Lake Havasu City Police Department Jail facility, and upon arrival, attempted to flee on foot again but was unsuccessful.

As a result of the investigation, Detectives served a search warrant on a residence in the 4000 block of Challenger Drive, and during the search located an undisclosed amount of Fentanyl pills and drug paraphernalia.

Andre Rawlins was charged with Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Damage, Tampering with Evidence, Resisting Arrest, and Attempted Escape. Rawlins is being held on a $50,000.00 cash-only bond and was transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
