FLASH FIRE IN HYPERBARIC CHAMBER
July 10, 2025

At approximately 10:50 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Lake Havasu City Fire Department units, along with the Lake Havasu City Police Department, were dispatched to a reported medical emergency for a burn patient in the 1800 block of Mesquite Avenue. The 911 caller's information added that the patient was inside a hyperbaric chamber when the burns occurred. Due to 911 caller information, the response was upgraded to a commercial fire response to ensure adequate resources responded to provide medical care and mitigate the emergency.

The first arriving crews identified smoke throughout the building and an intact hyperbaric chamber that appeared to have had a flash fire in the chamber with one patient inside. The patient was pronounced deceased upon arrival of emergency crews. The deceased patient, identified as 43-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Walter Foxcroft, was the only subject injured in the incident.  Five engine companies, one medic unit, and a Battalion Chief responded to the incident. The occupancy was ventilated and checked for any other flammable hazards, and the incident was turned over to police detectives and fire investigators. The cause of the flash fire and the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation
