Over the past month, detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been conducting an investigation into subjects selling methamphetamine in the Lake Havasu City and Parker, Arizona area.

On September 17, 2019, and with the assistance of the La Paz County Sheriff’s K-9 unit, a traffic stop was conducted in La Paz County, on a vehicle occupied by 29-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Tara Cosby and 49-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Clint Martin. As a result of the traffic stop, one pound of methamphetamines was located inside the vehicle, and Cosby and Martin were taken into custody.

On September 20, 2019, information was received that approximately two additional ounces of methamphetamine was located at a residence occupied by Clint Martin and Tara Cosby in the 300 block of Sunflower Drive. Patrol Officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were notified and seized the methamphetamine. At approximately 3:45 p.m., the Special Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit and Street Crimes Unit, served a search warrant at the residence in the 300 block of Sunflower Drive.

During the search, two additional subjects were found to be living in a trailer on the property. As a result of the search warrant, a usable amount of methamphetamine, a usable amount of marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia were located.

As a result of the investigation, Clint Martin was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held on a $5,000 cash-only bond in the custody of the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office.
