Havasu Riviera and Contact Point State Park Groundbreaking Ceremony
November 09, 2016

Lake Havasu City, Arizona State Parks, and Komick Enterprises invite the public to the groundbreaking ceremony for Havasu Riviera and Contact Point State Park at 10 AM Thursday, November 10 at the entrance to the site at 2400 Sweetwater Avenue.

The development of both a mainland launch ramp and lakeside property at Contact Point has been in discussions for over twenty years. Recently, Arizona State Parks Director Sue Black moved the discussions to the forefront with Mayor Mark S. Nexsen and developers Jim and Ken Komick, who partnered with Desert Land Group, and a public/private partnership was established to reach a common goal.

Located along the shore of Lake Havasu, Havasu Riviera encompasses over 550 acres and is truly unique opportunity for recreation, education and living. The project includes: 1) Havasu Riviera Resort Community — a unique water-fronting resort and residential project developed by Komick Development. 2) Contact Point State Park — a waterfront marina and boat launch project developed through a public private partnership with Arizona State Parks. 3) Havasu 280 — 280 acres of public recreational and educational facilities by Lake Havasu City with proposed day-use facilities, botanical garden and other park amenities.

This project is also a significant milestone toward completion of the Implementation Plan to revitalize the Lake Havasu City economy as finalists in the Frontier Communication’s America’s Best Communities competition.

Following the Havasu Riviera groundbreaking ceremony, at 11:30 AM, Arizona State Parks also invites the public to celebrate the official opening and naming of its newest boat ramp at Lake Havasu State Park.  This ramp increases access to the lake, decreases traffic and reduces wait times. It will provide seven launch lanes and parking for 74 vehicles with trailers.
