Holiday Mail Awareness
November 30, 2016

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors of the community not to leave mail in their mailboxes or packages on their porches overnight. The Police Department has seen an increase in reports of mail theft recently. Criminals check mailboxes to look for holiday cards with money, gift cards or other identifying information to perpetrate the crime of identity theft and fraud.

If you see suspicious activity you are encouraged to report it to the Lake Havasu City Police Department by calling the non-emergency dispatch number at 928-855-4111, the Lake Havasu Silent Witness at (928) 854-TIPS (8477) or www.havasusilentwitness.com.  Citizens can send an anonymous text message tip to “CRIMES” or 274637.    Tips can also be submitted anonymously through a web page based tip service at www.tipsoft.com or via the “TipSubmit” mobile application for iPhone and Android based smart phones.

Public Information Officer:  Sergeant Tom Gray (928) 855-1171
