INJURY ACCIDENT

On Thursday, January 13, 2022, at approximately 1:43 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1900 block of Industrial Blvd. During the investigation, it was determined that a 2002 Bombardier quad was traveling eastbound on Industrial Blvd. when it went into an uncontrolled sideways slide and left the roadway. As the quad left the roadway it struck a curb causing it to roll. The sole occupant was ejected from the quad and struck a chain-link fence which caused significant injuries. The operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

As a result of the crash, the 39-year-old male operator, Jeffrey Richter was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for immediate medical attention. He was later flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas with life-threatening injuries. The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. The crash remains under investigation. Impairment is believed to be a factor.
