INVESTIGATION LEADS TO DRUG ARRESTS
September 18, 2020

Over the past several months, detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been conducting an investigation into two subjects selling illegal drugs in the Lake Havasu City area.

On September 17, 2020 at approximately 3:55 a.m., Patrol Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle that was occupied by the subjects in question, and a short vehicle pursuit ensued when the driver of the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle crashed in the area of Trotwood Drive and McCulloch Boulevard South, where the two occupants fled on foot before being apprehended.

As a result of the investigation, 25-year old Lake Havasu City Resident Hayley Thomas was arrested for Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Flight, Reckless Driving, Hit and Run, and Criminal Damage. After her initial appearance, Thomas was held on a $50,000 cash-only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

William Brooks, a 50-year old Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested for Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Resisting Arrest. After his initial appearance, Brooks was held on a $50,000 cash-only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
