The Executive Council members at LHHS hosted “Knight Time Pizza with Mayor and City Manager” yesterday afternoon. Although it was early release, the Executive Council stayed to visit with the Mayor and City Manager to learn about current events in the City. The meeting was suggested by Havasu Youth Advisory Council member Garrett McNerney, at the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Youth Conference. During a candid conversation between the youth and various city managers and mayors across the State, Garrett said that Mayor Nexsen holds monthly Coffee with the Mayor meetings with the residents in Lake Havasu City to give a brief City update and hear from the residents, but early in the morning and during school hours. Garrett suggested that the students would also like the same update, but at a convenient time and place for the students. Because the first meeting was a success and so well received, there are plans to host future meetings. Thank you Garrett McNerney, LHHS, and Ginny Sautner for the opportunity.
