Lake Havasu City Fire Department Offers Child and Babysitting Safety Classes

The Lake Havasu City Fire Department is offering child and babysitting safety classes to children 11-15 years of age. Each class is eight hours long, taught for four hours a day over a two-day period, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Classes will be held on June 6-7, June 8-9, June 13-14, June 15-16, June 20-21, June 22-23, June 27-28 and June 29-30.

Whether kids watch their younger siblings, baby-sit with help from a friend, are seasoned babysitters, or are alone at home, this class will provide valuable information. Lessons include babysitting as a business, safety and injury prevention, leadership, play time, basic caregiving skills and first aid.

There is a $30 non-refundable fee and pre-registration is required by a parent or legal guardian.  Registration is open and can be completed at either Fire Station No. 1 – Public Education Office at 96 Acoma Boulevard South, or at City Hall, 2330 McCulloch Boulevard North from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration will remain open until classes are full.
