LAKE HAVASU CITY INSTALLS SIGNAGE ALONG DOWNTOWN ALLEYWAY
September 18, 2023

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to make the community aware of some new signage that was recently installed along the easement of a downtown alleyway. Alley 37, which is the alleyway off Swanson Ave. behind Starbucks (52 Lake Havasu Ave.) now has signage prohibiting vehicles from driving southbound from Swanson Ave. This essentially makes it a one-way thoroughfare for northbound traffic on the alleyway, in between Swanson Ave. and Sunflower Dr.

This will not affect traffic in the alleyway south of Sunflower Dr., in between Sunflower Dr. and Smoketree Ave., as this portion of the alley will remain open to two-way traffic.

The purpose of this new restriction serves as an effort to protect the motoring public from potential collisions that are caused by traffic congestion in the area. Photographs of the new “one way / do not enter” signs are attached. Motorists who disregard the traffic control devices could be subject to a traffic citation, resulting in civil penalties. Traffic safety is of utmost importance to the Lake Havasu City Police Department, and we ask that motorists do their part in observing and abiding by this traffic change.
