On February 15, 2026, at approximately 9:58 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Lake Havasu Avenue North in reference to an injury vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision.
Upon arrival, officers determined that two pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Lake Havasu Avenue. After striking the pedestrians, the vehicle continued southbound and collided with an unoccupied, parked vehicle.
Both pedestrians were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. One of the pedestrians, identified as 55-year-old British Columbia resident Julie Becker, was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The other pedestrian, 67-year-old British Columbia resident Barry Becker, remains in stable condition in the hospital.
The Lake Havasu City Police Department Crash Team responded to conduct a comprehensive investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that speed and alcohol are believed to have been contributing factors in the collision.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 19-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Acadia Frye. A DUI investigation was conducted, and Frye was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, DUI, criminal damage, and underage consumption of alcohol. At her initial court appearance, Frye was held on a $25,000 secured bond and transported to the Mohave County Detention Facility.
Additional charges of manslaughter are pending review by the Mohave County Attorney’s Office.
