MALE ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER

On May 2, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to the 3900 block of Silver Clipper Lane in response to reports of a male victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who was suffering from several injuries consistent with stabbing. The suspect had fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival.

The victim was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center, where he received medical treatment. His injuries were later determined to be non-life-threatening.

During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Donald Buckles, a 26-year-old resident of Lake Havasu City.

On May 4, 2025, the Lake Havasu City Street Crimes Unit received information regarding Buckles’ possible whereabouts. Surveillance was conducted and confirmed his presence at a residence in the 800 block of Chalon Drive. A search warrant was obtained and, with the assistance of the SWAT team, executed at the location.

At approximately 3:43 p.m., Donald Buckles was taken into custody without incident. He faces multiple charges, including attempted second-degree homicide, aggravated assault, and disorderly conduct involving a weapon. Following his initial court appearance, Buckles was held on a $100,000 cash-only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
