MAN ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE WEAPONS VIOLATIONS

On July 21, 2022, at 12:43 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department arrested Ralph Jones in the 3800 block of London Bridge Road in Desert Hills, Arizona. The arrest was in connection to a Weapons Misconduct investigation that involved a male subject detonating Improvised Explosive Devices on several occasions in the 5600 block of HWY 95.  

On July 13, 2022, the Lake Havasu City Police Department received a report that over a two-month period, an unknown white male had been seen on video surveillance on multiple occasions setting off small Improvised Explosive Devices in a parking lot near the 5600 block of HWY 95. There were no damages or injuries reported during the initial report.

On July 21, 2022, at approximately 12:43 p.m., officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, along with detectives from the Criminal and Special Investigations Units, conducted a traffic stop in the 3800 block of London Bridge Rd. and identified the driver as 59-year-old Desert Hills resident Ralph Jones. During the traffic stop, Jones was found in possession of several items that connected him to the Weapons Misconduct investigation. He was arrested without incident.

A search warrant was later served in the 3800 block of London Bridge Rd., and numerous items related to manufacturing explosives were located. The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Bomb Team and agents from the FBI responded to the location to assist with the investigation.  During the search, officers seized several completed Improvised Explosive Devices, numerous containers that contained high explosives, a variety of explosive precursors, a narcotic pill, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, Ralph Jones was charged with Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon, Prohibited Possessor, Misconduct Involving Weapons, Possession of Narcotics, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

During his initial appearance, Jones was held on $35,000 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
