On April 4, 2022, at approximately 8:00 p.m. the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Mockingbird Dr. in reference to a male subject who had fired a gun inside his residence. When officers arrived on scene an officer-involved shooting took place. The subject then barricaded himself inside his residence and the SWAT team, along with crisis negotiators, responded to help resolve the incident.

The suspect was later taken into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. The Bullhead City Police Department was called to investigate the officer-involved shooting incident. It is standard protocol to have an outside agency investigate all officer-involved shootings.
