PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR GABBY VERA NAMED AZ YOUNG PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
Lake Havasu City proudly congratulates Gabrielle Vera, Director of Parks and Recreation, for being named the 2025 Young Professional of the Year by the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association (APRA). Vera received the prestigious award in recognition of her leadership, creativity, and dedication to enhancing the quality of life through parks and recreation.
This latest honor follows Vera’s recent national recognition as the Robert W. Crawford Young Professional of the Year by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), making her one of the most celebrated rising leaders in the field both statewide and across the country.
“It’s incredibly humbling to receive this honor from both my state and national peers,” said Vera. “This is a reflection of our amazing Parks and Recreation team here in Lake Havasu City and the supportive community we serve. I’m proud of the work we’re doing and excited for what’s ahead.”
During her tenure, Vera has expanded recreational programming, championed community-driven events for all ages, and strengthened civic engagement through parks and public spaces.
“Gabby’s impact is undeniable,” said City Manager Jess Knudson. “She leads with vision, energy, and a genuine passion for community. Lake Havasu City is fortunate to have her, and we’re thrilled to see her recognized at both the state and national levels.
