The Lake Havasu City Development Services Department, in collaboration with the Fire Department, is proposing the adoption of the 2024 International Building and Fire Codes, along with tailored local amendments.This update reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to staying aligned with the latest industry standards, enhancing construction safety, and supporting the integration of modern technologies. If approved, the 2024 codes will replace the currently adopted 2018 International Building Codes and associated local amendments.

The proposed local amendments under review include changes that are intended to:

• Reflect Lake Havasu City’s unique environmental and structural conditions
• Address recurring construction challenges identified by City staff
• Streamline local amendments to better align with the published 2024 Building and Fire Codes
• Ensure consistency between Building and Fire Code requirements
