RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE
May 16, 2025

At approximately 1:38 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, a fire was reported by the occupant of a residence in the 1200 block of Tanqueray Drive.  The 12-year-old occupant was alerted by the smell of smoke coming from the garage area of the residence and exited the structure safely. The first arriving fire company found light smoke showing with water coming from under the closed garage door.  Upon further investigation, fire crews found that a fire occurred within the garage area of the house and was extinguished with the activation of a single fire sprinkler head.  Four engine companies, one truck company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire to ensure fire extinguishment and to look for any fire extension.  No injuries were reported to firefighters.  Crews remained on the scene for an additional hour conducting an investigation and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire was determined to be from an RC car battery charger plugged into a wall outlet.
