RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE

At approximately 3:38 p.m. on October 7, 2023, a fire was reported in the 3000 block of Saratoga Ave.  Lake Havasu Fire Dispatch received multiple calls reporting black smoke and fire coming from a residence. The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke and flames coming from the roof of the residence.  Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, One F.D. Medic Unit and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 47 minutes.

There were no occupants at home at the time of the fire. Multiple pets were found and removed from the residence by fire crews. One firefighter was injured and transported to the hospital. CERT responded to the fire with 12 personnel to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene for an additional 2 hours conducting salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
