August 29, 2019

Over the past couple of months, detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) have been conducting an investigation into subjects selling heroin and methamphetamine from a residence in the 3000 block of Erwin Lane in Lake Havasu City.

On August 27, at approximately 4:45 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s SWAT team, along with the Special Investigations Unit, Criminal Investigations Unit and Street Crimes Unit served a search warrant at that residence. As a result of the search, several grams of heroin, a half an ounce of methamphetamine, multiple narcotic pills, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, including items commonly associated with sales of illegal drugs, and proceeds from the sales of illegal drugs were located.

As a result of the investigation, the following subjects were arrested:

Taylor J. Merrick, 24 years old, was arrested for possession of heroin for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.   Merrick was released after she posted a $2,500 bond.

Jason Drew, 38 years old, was arrested for possession of heroin for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.   During his initial appearance, Drew was held on a $15,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
