October 31, 2022

On October 23, 2022, at approximately 7:39 p.m., officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department arrested three Las Vegas residents, Shanae Swanson (30), Joy Evans (28), and Jamesha Marshall (31) in the 1800 block of N. McCulloch Blvd. in connection with multiple organized retail theft investigations.

On October 23, 2022, Lake Havasu City Police officers conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a white Chrysler 200 in the 1800 block of N. McCulloch Blvd. While dealing with the occupants of the vehicle, a report was received regarding a shoplifting that had just occurred in the area of N. McCulloch Blvd. and Lake Havasu Ave. The reporting person provided a description of the vehicle and individuals involved in the theft, which matched the people being contacted for the traffic violation. The investigation revealed that the three people in the car, Shanae Swanson (30), Joy Evans (28), and Jamesha Marshall (31), had just stolen over $1,000.00 worth of high-end alcohol from Walgreens. The bottles of alcohol were found in the vehicle during the traffic stop.

Officers were later able to determine that two other previous investigations were linked to the same individuals. Those investigations involved suspects stealing over $1,000.00 worth of high-end alcohol at Smith’s on September 26, 2022, and Walgreens on October 13, 2022.

As a result of the investigations, the following individuals were arrested:

Shanae Swanson: Organized Retail Theft (x3)/ Felony Shoplifting (x3) / Shoplifting using an Artifice (x3) / Possession of an Open Alcohol Container

Jamesha Marshall (31): Organized Retail Theft (x2)/ Felony Shoplifting (x2) / Shoplifting using an Artifice (x2) / Possession of an Open Alcohol Container

Joy Evans: Organized Retail Theft / Felony Shoplifting / Shoplifting using an Artifice / Possession of an Open Alcohol Container

During their initial appearances, Swanson received a $15,000 bond, Marshall received a $10,000 bond, and Evans received a $5,000 bond. All three were transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
