The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to bring awareness to the community regarding the increased use of electric motorcycles, including motorized play vehicles that have an operating power of 750 watts or higher. Officers have been making numerous educational contacts over the past several weeks regarding operators who may not be aware of Lake Havasu City Codes regarding these vehicles.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting enhanced traffic and DUI enforcement during the Cinco de Mayo holiday, Friday, May 5, through Saturday, May 6, 2023. Funding for this effort is provided by a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The Lake Havasu City Police Department reminds everyone participating in Cinco de Mayo festivities to enjoy the day responsibly. Participants are encouraged to arrange for a designated driver or utilize one of the many ride-sharing options available throughout the city.

On April 30th, 2023, at approximately 1:35 P.M., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 95 at the Palo Verde South Intersection where a 2017 Hyundai Accent and a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado collided head-on.

Lake Havasu City is participating in the National Firefighters Foundation’s “Light the Night” Fallen Firefighters campaign, honoring the firefighters that have passed away this year on the job and from job-related illnesses nationwide. In support of this initiative, as dusk turns to night, various City buildings and landmarks will be lit red, including the iconic London Bridge.

Meeting is held in the Council Chambers at the Police Department located at 2360 McCulloch Blvd North.

The Lake Havasu City Water Division announces the closure of Swanson Ave. from Mariposa Dr. to Mulberry Ave. for water service line installation. The roadway will be closed to through traffic on Swanson Ave. from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, to Friday, May 5, subject to weather and other conditions. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes, allow themselves extra travel time and follow all construction signage.
