The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting enhanced traffic and DUI enforcement during the Independence Day holiday weekend, Saturday, July 1 through Tuesday, July 4, 2023. The Lake Havasu City Police Department reminds everyone participating in July 4th festivities to enjoy the weekend responsibly. Participants are encouraged to arrange for a designated driver or utilize one of the many ride-sharing options available throughout the city.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is making it easier for residents to request and receive public records in accordance with Arizona law. The Lake Havasu City Police Department went live with GovQA software on June 19, 2023. The purpose of this program is to process and manage public records and information requests from citizens, as well as the media, more efficiently.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to make the community aware of a recent local scam that has been reported. In this scam, the caller portrays themselves as a representative of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office or other government agency. The caller identification number appears to show up as an official law enforcement phone number, and the caller indicates that the recipient has an arrest warrant out of Mohave County.

The victim of the homicide investigation that occurred on June 22, 2023, has been identified as 69-year-old Bullhead City resident Mark Corbett.

On June 22, 2023, at approximately 12:40 p.m. Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to a residence within the 3000 block of Appaloosa Dr. regarding a shooting. The caller advised dispatch that she just shot a male subject who was in her residence.

Lake Havasu City would like to inform residents that the city recently installed new emergency push buttons outside of all city owned fire stations to contact the 911 dispatch center in case of an emergency. This system is easily accessible and provides a direct line of communication with the Lake Havasu City 911 Dispatch Center.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to make the community aware of credit card skimmers that have recently been found at some local businesses. One of which was located at a store within the 80 block of Acoma Blvd. N., another in the 1800 block of Kiowa Ave, another in the 3200 block of Maricopa Ave. and another in a convenience store within the 1500 block of Palo Verde Blvd. S. These skimmers were located attached to the point-of-sale systems in each of these establishments. Each skimmer was attached to the top of the keypad display where consumers insert, or swipe, their credit card.
