INTRODUCTION

The Spring Havasu Residents Academy continues our mission to build transparency, strengthen civic engagement, and connect residents with the departments and people who serve Lake Havasu City every day.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Academy is to offer a structured, interactive learning experience that empowers residents to better understand their local government.

OBJECTIVES

  • Educate residents about city operations and services
  • Promote active civic participation
  • Strengthen relationships between city government and the community

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • Duration: 8 weeks
  •  Schedule: Thursdays, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Locations: Rotating city departments and facilities
  • Participants: Up to 25 residents
  • Cost: Free
  • Graduation: Final week celebration with Mayor, Council, and City leadership

Week 1 (3/5) – Building Foundations in Havasu

Presenters: Mayor, City Manager, Administrative Services

Theme: The Who, The What, The Why

Location: City Council Chambers

 

Week 2 (3/12) – Ensuring Justice & Transparency in Havasu

Presenters: Courts, City Clerk, City Attorney

Theme: Public Law, Public Access, Local Voice

Location: City Council Chambers/Tour

 

Week 3 (3/19) – Protecting & Serving in Havasu

Presenters: Police Department

Theme: Community, Crime Prevention & Modern Policing

Location: Council Chambers/Tour PD

 

Week 4 (3/26) – Preparing & Responding in Havasu, & Recruitment

Presenters: Fire Department and Human Resources

Theme: Safety, Service & Split-Second Decisions, Recruitment

Week 5 (4/2) – Connecting in Havasu

Presenters: Asst. City Manager, Parks & Recreation, Transit, Grants, Engagement
