REGISTRATION OPEN FOR SECOND HAVASU RESIDENTS ACADEMY
January 26, 2026

Following the successful launch of the inaugural Havasu Residents Academy, Lake Havasu City is now accepting applications for the Spring 2026 session. The eight-week academy continues the City’s commitment to transparency, civic education, and meaningful community engagement by offering residents a behind-the-scenes look at how local government operates and serves the community.

The Havasu Residents Academy runs from March 5 through April 23, 2026, with Thursday evening sessions held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Classes take place at rotating City facilities and departments, allowing participants to experience City operations firsthand while engaging directly with elected officials, department leaders, and staff.

Developed in response to community feedback and the City’s ongoing focus on openness and connection, the Academy offers a structured, interactive learning experience designed to help residents better understand City services, decision-making processes, and opportunities for civic engagement.

The inaugural session welcomed a diverse group of residents who completed the program with a deeper understanding of their local government and stronger connections to the people who serve Lake Havasu City every day.

“The success of our first Havasu Residents Academy confirmed our residents are eager to learn, engage, and be part of shaping the future of our community,” said Community Engagement Officer Jerri Bracamonte. “This second session builds on that momentum and continues creating informed, connected residents who feel confident navigating City government and contributing in meaningful ways.”

Throughout the eight-week program, participants will take part in interactive presentations, facility tours, demonstrations, and open discussions covering topics such as City leadership and governance, public law and access, public safety, emergency response, quality of life services, infrastructure, development, and long-term planning. The program concludes with a graduation celebration attended by City leadership.

The Havasu Residents Academy is free and open to Lake Havasu City residents aged 18 and older who live within Lake Havasu City limits. Space is limited to 25 participants. Dinner is provided each week to accommodate working schedules.
Applications are accepted online beginning January 26, 2026. Selected participants are notified in mid-February, with the first session scheduled for March 5.
