The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting traffic and DUI enforcement on Saturday, October 28, through Tuesday, October 31, 2023, for the Halloween weekend celebration. The Lake Havasu City Police Department wants to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly. Motorists should follow Arizona’s traffic and vehicle regulations, be aware of pedestrians crossing the roadways, and drive at slower speeds in high pedestrian traffic areas.

Lake Havasu City Fire Department in coordination with Lake Havasu Firefighter Charities will have local fire stations open and will be handing out candy to Trick or Treaters on Halloween night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Lake Havasu City Transit is changing the services it provides to best serve the public in Lake Havasu City. The Direct and Flex (ADA users) services are widely popular, with almost 20,000 riders in the last twelve months. This service allows the user to request a ride through an app or by phone call. The service costs the user $3 or $5, depending on the length of the ride. Based on ridership, the fixed-route system has not met the expectations of Lake Havasu City Transit and a change is needed. The Bridge first served Lake Havasu City residents on February 28, 2022, and will have its final ride this Friday, October 20, 2023. The Transit Division ran three different pilot routes, to identify a route that would be beneficial and sustainable for the residents of Lake Havasu City. The data collected was evaluated and it is determined that the system did not produce the expected ridership.

At approximately 6:58 p.m. on October 15, 2023, a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 4100 block of Bison Blvd. The occupants discovered a fire in the garage and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported a working fire in the garage with flames through the roof. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, one Med. Unit, and a Battalion Chief responded and gained control of the fire in 42 minutes. One occupant was treated on-scene and released. One Firefighter was injured and transported to the hospital. Two pets were removed from the residence and reunited with the homeowner.

At approximately 3:38 p.m. on October 7, 2023, a fire was reported in the 3000 block of Saratoga Ave. Lake Havasu Fire Dispatch received multiple calls reporting black smoke and fire coming from a residence. The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke and flames coming from the roof of the residence. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, One F.D. Medic Unit and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 47 minutes.

The Lake Havasu City Administrative Services Department is pleased to announce that it has received The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting due to the City’s all-inclusive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022.

The Annual Youth Talent Show brought to you by the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Department is taking place on Thursday, October 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the stage under the London Bridge. Registration is free, and is currently being accepted at the Aquatic Center through Friday, October 20. Children are encouraged to register and share their talent with the community!

At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, a natural gas leak was reported by Unisource in the 2400 block of S. Palo Verde. Unisource discovered a gas leak under the street and immediately shut down S. Palo Verde for safety. Crews from both Unisource and Lake Havasu Fire Department monitored the area and evacuated any affected residents.
