Lake Havasu City has received approximately $810,681.00 in FY2024 federal CDBG funds from the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account (RA) for the purpose of homeowner-occupied rehabilitation. Lake Havasu City also intends to apply for $500,000 in FY2024 CDBG funds from the State Special Projects (SSP) account. CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight or address urgent need.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is proud to announce its re-accreditation through the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP). Accreditation is a progressive and time-proven method of assisting law enforcement agencies in measuring and improving their overall performance. ALEAP is intended to provide law enforcement agencies in the state with an avenue for demonstrating that they meet commonly accepted best practices and industry standards for efficient, effective, productive, and quality operations. Police Chief Troy Stirling met with the ALEAP commission on January 25 for a review of the on-site visit and inspections that were conducted by ALEAP assessors. LHCPD was proudly awarded the certificate of re-accreditation on February 2.

The Lake Havasu City Council invites volunteer speakers to offer an invocation before the beginning of its Regular Meetings for the benefit and blessing of the City Council. Any individual or organization interested in offering an invocation at a City Council Regular Meeting can submit their names for participation in the lottery through an application located on the City’s website. The invocational speaker must be a resident of Lake Havasu City having resided in Lake Havasu City for at least one (1) year prior to March 1, 2024.
