The Lake Havasu City Fire Department (LHCFD) is hosting an open house recruitment event on October 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the LHCFD Training Facility located at 2065 Kiowa Boulevard North. The event is designed to provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about the rewarding career of firefighting and the recruitment process for the LHCFD.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Monday, August 26, a garage fire was reported by witnesses driving in the 3500 block of Oro Grande Boulevard. The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames coming from the garage doors of a double RV garage. Five Engine Companies, one Medic Unit, and a Battalion Chief responded to the incident and gained control of the fire within 25 minutes. The occupants evacuated the house safely. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional two hours conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation. CERT Crews also responded to provide support to the working firefighters.

Mayor Cal Sheehy announces Lake Havasu City is illuminating the London Bridge in red, white, and blue lights Monday night, August 26, to honor the anniversary of the loss of thirteen U.S. service members and other victims killed in the 2021 terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan.

A temporary closure of Jack Hardie Park, located at Baron Drive, is required for Parks and Recreation playground equipment improvements. Crews will begin the removal of old playground equipment starting next Monday, August 26, to prepare for the replacement and installation of new playground equipment and safety surface to be installed mid to late September. The park is anticipated to be reopened at the end of September.

A temporary road closure of McCulloch Boulevard is required for Public Works Infrastructure Improvements. In an effort to reduce the impact to local businesses and motorist, contractors will be working at night to improve the water system.

Lake Havasu City would like to remind pet owners to please leave their pets at home if they are actively treating them for flees, lice, or kennel cough, they should not be visiting the dog parks, or interacting with other dogs until they are feeling better.

On August 14, 2024, at approximately 11:42 a.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Havasupai Boulevard in reference to a single vehicle traffic collision. Upon officers’ arrival, the driver of the vehicle was found unconscious and not breathing. Officers removed the subject from the vehicle and began lifesaving measures.

Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 13-3825 (Sex Offender Community Notification Law), the Lake Havasu City Police Department recently handed out flyers to residents who live in close proximity to the level 3 sex offender listed below and is releasing the following information on this offender who has indicated he will be living in Lake Havasu City.
