The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to make the community aware of a recent local phone scam that has been reported.

The Lake Havasu City Fire & Police Departments are urging residents and visitors to take precautions as temperatures are expected to reach unsafe levels in the coming days.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department has released its July 4th holiday weekend statistics from Friday, June 30 to Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Due to scheduled runway painting, the Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport is preparing for the upcoming runway closure. The closure is in effect from 5:00 a.m. on July 12, 2023, through July 14, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. The airport is closed to general aviation operations during this period.

In an effort to provide better accommodations, the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled the closure of the Site Six Boat Launch to perform maintenance. The closure is in effect from 6:00 p.m. on July 10, 2023 through July 11, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. It will be necessary for residents to use alternate facilities.

Lake Havasu City, July 8, 2023- Lake Havasu City Fire Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Nathan Adler as the new Fire Marshal. Mr. Adler has assumed the role following his promotion from within the department, as confirmed by Fire Chief Peter Pilafas.

On July 2, 2023, at approximately 7:55 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a reported weapons violation in the desert area near the 3200 block of Chenoweth Drive East. During an initial investigation, officers determined that two females were visiting two transient males who were camping in the desert. During the visit, an altercation had occurred between 56-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Tracy Huenink and the two females. During the altercation, Huenink initially pointed a handgun in the direction of the females, and then fired a couple of shots into the air. The females then left the camp site uninjured.

On July 2, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a residence in the 2800 block of Palo Verde Boulevard North after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed a male lying on the floor inside the garage with an injury to his ankle, later revealed to be a single gunshot wound. As officers were walking toward the garage, a female was observed walking from the residence into the garage, holding what appeared to be a black handgun. The female entered the garage and was quickly detained by officers after she relinquished the handgun she was holding.
