The Lake Havasu City Police Department is releasing the following information pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 13-3825 (Sex Offender Community Notification Law). This offender has indicated he will be living in Lake Havasu City.

Lake Havasu City is conducting a citizen survey to ask our residents for their ideas and opinions about the City. The results of the survey will help the City identify what we are doing well and where we need to improve, in order to meet the needs of our citizens.

The investigation into the death of a 32-year-old Lake Havasu City man remains ongoing. On November 8, 2023, at approximately 10:18 p.m. Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to a residence within the 3700 block of Hiawatha Dr. regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject within the residence, who has been identified as 32-year-old Kyle Kozan, deceased from a suspected gunshot wound.

On November 8, 2023, at approximately 10:18 p.m. Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to a residence within the 3700 block of Hiawatha Dr. regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject within the residence, who has been identified as a 32-year-old Lake Havasu City resident, deceased from a suspected gunshot wound.

At approximately 3:30 pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department responded to a desert rescue at the Sara Park hiking trails. A hiker was unable to hike back to the trailhead and needed medical care. Two Engines, a Battalion Chief, and one desert rescue side by side responded. The hiker was located and received medical care from Fire Department personnel. Due to the rough terrain where the hiker was located, a medical helicopter was called for transport to the hospital. Another person in the party was able to safely hike back to the trailhead.

On November 2, 2023, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit were conducting a traffic stop in the Alley behind the 3500 block of Maricopa Avenue when the driver of the vehicle tossed an object outside the passenger window. During the traffic stop, the item tossed out the window was recovered by officers and contained approximately 92 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The driver, identified as 52-year old Lake Havasu City resident Shad Haddad, was ultimately arrested.

City offices are closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day. Police and Fire Department services are unaffected, however Administrative Offices and the Aquatic Center are closed. All City offices resume normal schedules on Monday, November 13. Trash and recycling schedules are not interrupted.
